Police said the rental car crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an oncoming passenger vehicle. According to Japanese media, the rental car was carrying a family of four from Hong Kong. A 52-year-old man was driving, while the 53-year-old woman was in the front passenger seat. Their two teenage daughters were also in the vehicle. The other car was occupied by a Japanese man and woman in their 20s. All six people involved were taken to hospital conscious, but the Hong Kong woman succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday (Jul 21). Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
