Aleem Khan promises economic revival ahead of AJK elections

Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan urged voters in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to move beyond traditional political choices, saying the upcoming elections offer an opportunity to bring meaningful political and economic change. In a video message released ahead of polling, he called on citizens to reject what he described as repeated promises from established parties and support leadership focused on practical development. He said the future of Azad Kashmir depends on responsible governance that delivers measurable results. Aleem Khan said that if voters give the IPP the opportunity to serve, the party will focus on economic revival through investment, tourism development, job creation, and transparent governance. He argued that strengthening the local economy would increase incomes, improve public services, and accelerate infrastructure projects. Furthermore, he stressed that accountable leadership is essential for achieving long-term prosperity across the region. The IPP president highlighted Azad Kashmir’s untapped economic potential, saying the region could attract both domestic and foreign investment by creating a business-friendly environment. He maintained that encouraging private sector participation would stimulate economic activity, generate sustainable employment, and improve living standards. According to him, investment-led growth would form the foundation of future development initiatives. Aleem Khan also described tourism as a key sector capable of transforming the region’s economy. He said Azad Kashmir’s natural beauty remains largely underutilized and called for modern tourism infrastructure, improved public facilities, and greater private investment. He added that expanding the tourism industry could significantly increase local revenue while creating thousands of employment opportunities, particularly for young people. Calling the vote a sacred responsibility, Aleem Khan urged citizens to evaluate candidates based on their performance, credibility, and ability to deliver results rather than political slogans. He also encouraged young voters to promote informed participation within their families and communities, reaffirming the IPP’s commitment to economic stability, accountable governance, and sustainable development across Azad Kashmir.
