A Buncrana man has been awarded a Doctorate so he can continue his research work into brain tumours. Adam McGlinchey has been offered a postdoctoral position at the Trinity College Dublin Genetics Department, capping off eight years of studies. The former Scoil Iosagain and Crana College student went on to study Human Genetics at Trinity, earning First Class Honours in his undergraduate degree course in 2022. Following his graduation, he was offered the chance to study for his PHD at Trinity, with his research project investigating Glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain tumour. Along with receiving his postdoctoral position, Adam will also present some of his findings at a large conference in London later this year.
