Evacuation alert issued for 12 properties due to wildfire northeast of 70 Mile House Published 5:11 pm Friday, July 17, 2026 An evacuation alert has been issued in response to the Tin Cup Creek wildfire northeast of 70 Mile House. The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) discovered the fire on Friday, July 17. As of the 2:25 p.m. update, it is 0.6 hectares, out of control, and 3 km west of McMahon Lake. The suspected cause is lightning, and the BCWS have assigned firefighters and aircraft to suppress it. The fire number is C40925. The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) issued the evacuation alert which went into effect at 5 p.m. It effects 12 properties on a portion of North Bonaparte Road in Electoral Area E (Bonaparte Plateau). The impacted areas are: – 3640 to 4110 North Bonaparte Rd, including the Boyd Bay campsite at Green Lake Provincial Park – 2248 Hutchison Rd – 2253 Hutchison Rd – All areas outlined in the released map “This Evacuation Alert is in place to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary.
