The assistance is funded through the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs’ Community Services Block Grant, which supports flood recovery efforts in Uvalde, Bandera, Dimmit, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, La Salle, McMullen and Zavala counties, according to the nonprofit’s website. Those seeking additional assistance may visit the Community Council of South Central Texas office at 1022 Garner Field Road, Suite C, in Uvalde. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the office closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch unless otherwise noted. The office also will be closed Aug. 7 for staff training.
