Lanjar hails end of 15-year-long bloody feud between Jeho and Dhani tribes

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has described the end of the 15-year-long bloody tribal feud between the Jeho and Dhani tribes in Larkana as a historic, extraordinary, and exemplary achievement of the Sindh Police. He said that the Sindh Police had not only compelled proclaimed and wanted offenders to surrender before the law but had also brought to an end a prolonged chapter of hatred, revenge, and bloodshed, thereby writing a new chapter of peace. The Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar stated that, as a result of the Larkana Police’s effective strategy, sustained operations, impartial enforcement, prudent negotiations, and the equal application of the law, 28 members of the Jeho and Dhani tribes surrendered and handed themselves over to the authorities, including proclaimed offenders carrying head money. He emphasized that all the accused would face trial in accordance with the law and that the requirements of justice would be fulfilled in every case. Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said that the 15-year tribal conflict had claimed 25 precious lives, left several others injured, rendered nearly 2,000 acres of agricultural land uncultivated, and severely disrupted normal life in three villages. Today, owing to the successful strategy of the Sindh Police, those same areas are once again moving toward peace, stability, and normalcy, which is a matter of great satisfaction for the Government of Sindh and law enforcement agencies. He said that the Larkana Police had demonstrated that the strength of the state lies not in the barrel of a gun but in the supremacy of the law. Through this operation, the Sindh Police has sent a clear message that no one is above the law in the province and that there will be no room for elements that threaten peace. The Sindh Home Minister paid glowing tribute to the courageous leadership, sound judgment, and professional competence of the SSP Larkana, Ahmed Faisal Chaudhry, as well as the tireless efforts of the entire police team. He said their performance is exemplary and deserving of recognition. He added that the SSP Larkana and the entire police team deserve appreciation for not only bringing dangerous proclaimed offenders before the law but also playing a vital role in transforming a long-standing tribal conflict into lasting peace. Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar reaffirmed the Sindh Government’s commitment, along with the Sindh Police, to continue taking effective and decisive measures to maintain law and order across the province, protect the lives and property of citizens, and uphold the writ of the state at all costs. He emphasized that peace is the foundation of development, and wherever peace prevails, prosperity, investment, and public confidence will naturally flourish.
