Mandi L. Cathcart

Amanda “Mandi” Lynn Cathcart of La Pryor passed away on July 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at University Hospital in San Antonio. Mandi L. Cathcart Mandi was born on July 22, 1985, in Uvalde, Texas, to Bobby and Denette Cathcart. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting, barbecuing for friends, and entertaining loved ones. Mandi was especially known for her delicious Spanish rice and tortilla soup. She had a deep love for animals of all kinds and possessed a remarkable ability to nurse sick or injured animals back to health in no time. Mandi was devoted to her family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She could always be counted on when someone was in need. For more than 20 years, she proudly served as a member of the La Pryor Volunteer Fire Department. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Deanna Hebert Tankersley and P.J. Hebert; her cousins, Jeremy Atkinson, Justin Atkinson, and Wyatt Hebert; and her beloved dog, Sandy. Mandi is survived by her parents, Bobby and Denette Cathcart; her brother, Travis Cathcart and wife Daneylle; and her niece, Sofia Zamora. She is also survived by her grandparents, Robert and Barbara Cathcart; her aunts and uncles, Dean and Cindy Atkinson of Uvalde, Tray and Jill Cathcart of Nixon, Ricky and Rene Hebert and Terry Hebert of San Antonio, and Vickie (Hebert) and Nick Hanna of Coto de Caza, California. Additional survivors include her cousins, Lexie Hanna, Jack Hanna, Nicky Hanna, Madeline Hebert, Camille Hebert, Carlie Hebert, Sydney Cathcart, Monica Atkinson, Colton Atkinson, and Ashlyn Atkinson. Mandi also leaves behind her very special pet raccoon, “Sissy,” whom she had raised from a baby. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The preceding is a paid obituary. The post Mandi L.
