Moodbidri: Car crashes into flyover barricade after skidding on rain-soaked road

The impact of the collision left the front portion of the car completely damaged. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle skidded on the rain-soaked road before crashing into the flyover barricade. Fortunately, the airbags deployed in time, helping the occupants escape without serious injuries. Following the accident, fuel spilled onto the road and mixed with rainwater, causing temporary disruption to vehicular movement. The incident has sparked concern among local residents, who pointed out that this is the third accident at the same spot on the flyover within the past two weeks. Residents alleged that rainwater accumulating on the National Highway flyover due to poor drainage has become the main reason behind the series of accidents. They said the absence of a proper drainage system during the monsoon causes water to stagnate on the carriageway, creating an artificial depression in the middle of the road. Motorists travelling at speed often fail to notice the accumulated water and lose control of their vehicles, locals said, urging the authorities to address the technical flaw and improve the drainage system to prevent further accidents.
