More than 5,000 apply for Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust CEO post, final pick to be announced by August 15

New Delhi: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is looking for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and has reportedly received thousands of applications from across India. The advertisement for the post said that applicants should have fluency in written and spoken Hindi and English, hold Indian citizenship and must have proven administrative and managerial experience. According to a report in the Times of India , the appointment is likely to be announced by August 15. As of now, an estimated 5,500 people from all across the country have applied for the post and a 3-member committee is screening these applications. The Trust is also likely to see the appointment of 3 new members and once again become a 15-member body, on Wednesday. The election is scheduled for the day. The necessity for these appointments arose after the demise of Vimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, the erstwhile Raja of Ayodhya and the resignation of 2 members, namely Champat Rai and Anil Mishra. While Champat Rai was a General secretary of the trust, Mishra was a trustee member. Times of India , quoted a screening-committee member as saying that the entire process of application scrutiny might take around 4 weeks. This would mean that the final announcement of the new CEO can be expected around mid-August. The committee member said that after screening all applications, candidates will be shortlisted. Then the committee will conduct interviews with the selected candidates. Before sending a final recommendation to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the committee will conduct in-person and virtual interviews with some of the candidates. After the committee is done with the interview, they will send names of the selected candidates to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The candidates whose names are with the trust will have to appear for a one-on-one interview with members of the trust. This would be the final round and the candidate selected by the Trust members would be announced as the CEO. The committee member said that an approximate 5,500 applications have been received from across India for this position. However, he did not specify as to how many men and how many women had applied for the position. According to the member, the focus is on the overall personality of the candidate and not any specific qualification. The committee is looking for a person who is a “good manager, capable administrator, humble, have good educational qualifications and relevant experience.” He added that communication skills in both Hindi and English are essential for the candidate. Apart from the above, the candidate should have faith in Sanatan and Lord Ram. The CEO’s tenure initially would be for 3 years, said the committee.
