President Marcos inspects housing project in Davao City

DAVAO CITY -- President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday inspected a medium-rise socialized housing project in Barangay Calinan here, as part of his swing into the Davao region, a day after delivering his State of the Nation Address. The president arrived at People's Ville in Riverside Calinan around 2:47 p.m. accompanied by DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo, and Mindanao Development Authority Leo Tereso Magno, among other officials. Visiting at least two occupied units at Building 2, he was seen talking to residents and their children. People’s Ville is part of the government’s effort to expand access to affordable housing units under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program. The project sits on a 14-hectare area and is set to accommodate up to 72 buildings with 7,200 housing units in all. Currently, 26 5-storey buildings have been completed with 400 families already awarded and have occupied their new homes. The community is equipped with parks, outdoor gym, a multi-purpose hall, among other amenities. /mr
