Raiders' Maxx Crosby seems to drop major hint about future amid trade rumors
On Friday, Crosby seemed to confirm his intentions for at least the start of the 2026 season.
Regardless of the existence of what have been referred to as "absolutely exhausting" trade rumors, there has been zero legitimate sign that either the Las Vegas Raiders or star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby wants to end their working relationship amid the NFL's ongoing summer break. On Friday, Crosby seemed to confirm his intentions for at least the start of the 2026 season. As Doric Sam of Bleacher Report and Austin Boyd of Heavy shared, Crosby released a new song on Friday titled "Raider Way." This isn't Crosby's first track, but it could go down as his most significant of the offseason. "The song is all about playing for the Raiders, and features highlights from Crosby’s time with the team," Boyd wrote. Sam noted that the song "is dedicated to [Crosby's] longtime franchise." Crosby has played only for the Raiders since they drafted him in 2019, and he seemed serious about wanting to stay with the team through the remainder of his career before he requested a trade at some point earlier this year. The Baltimore Ravens ultimately offered the Raiders two first-round draft picks for Crosby, but the Ravens later backed out of that trade due to supposed concerns related to the meniscus repair he needed this past winter. Since that time, Crosby and those running the Raiders have reportedly mended fences. Back in June, Raiders minority owner Tom Brady made it known he expects "a lot of improvement" from Las Vegas after the club finished last season with a record of 3-14. That comment led some to assume that Crosby won't be going anywhere before the upcoming campaign gets underway. NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk/NBC Sports is among those who think Crosby could at least reconsider his future if it becomes clear that the Raiders care more about the development of rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza than about winning games this coming fall. Veteran Kirk Cousins is currently on track to serve as Las Vegas' Week 1 QB1, and it's unknown if Mendoza will receive a legitimate chance to win the job in August. More must-reads:
