A Huge Success for Robot Rhapsody Rapturous Studio has announced an impressive milestone for its upcoming cyberpunk JRPG, Robot Rhapsody, after the game’s Kickstarter campaign reached its $20,000 funding goal in just 44 hours. Following the success of Beloved Rapture, which won the RPGMaker Award for Best RPG 2026, the studio has once again partnered with publisher 2 Left Thumbs for its latest project. Robot Rhapsody takes players into a dystopian future where AI-controlled “utopias” dominate the world. The story follows Selva, a retired mercenary, who joins a group of survivors determined to resist oppressive AI forces. Along the way, players will recruit hacked robots, upgrade them using salvaged technology, and uncover strange communities of human resistance scattered across the world. The game promises a 20-30 hour main story alongside more than 10 hours of optional side content. Combat is turn-based with a strong focus on strategy and challenge, while multiple difficulty settings, including Story, Classic, and Expert modes, allow players to tailor the experience to their preferred playstyle. Rapturous Studio also highlights that Robot Rhapsody is entirely human-made, with hand-painted pixel art, atmospheric environments, and a cinematic hybrid rock soundtrack composed by the returning musician behind Beloved Rapture. The narrative explores themes such as artificial intelligence, cults, environmentalism, and art as a form of rebellion. With its funding goal already secured, the campaign has unlocked early stretch goals, including a Boss Rush mode, partial voice acting, and plans for console releases. Robot Rhapsody is currently targeting a November 2027 launch. The campaign’s rapid success shows strong enthusiasm for the project, and it will be interesting to see what additional stretch goals the community helps unlock before the campaign concludes.
