Speculation on Aditya Dhar next Project

Aditya Dhar became the talk of the town after the sensation he created with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar franchise. From then on speculation increased over his next project and the names of various top stars did rounds. Now, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed interesting plans of him with Aditya Dhar. He said he had approached Aditya Dhar to do a project, a biopic on legendary Ahom general Lachit Borphukan. He said “If Aditya Dhar is unable to direct the film, we will approach other directors. The objective is to ensure that a grand biopic on Lachit Borphukan is made." He added “The movie Dhurandhar was a big hit. Aditya Dhar was the director and he is among the best known names among his contemporaries," He added, “I think if our government can produce a film on Lachit Borphukan, we can make his heroics known globally. And, it will be a special achievement for us." In the 2026-27 Budget presented on July 10, the government headed by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced plans to support films on the lives of legendary Ahom general Lachit Borphukan and freedom fighter Kushal Konwar. Lachit Borphukan was a celebrated Ahom military commander and is best known for leading the Ahom army to victory against the Mughal Empire in the 1671 Battle of Saraighat, a landmark triumph that halted Mughal expansion into the region.
