The Tom Holland starrer earned Rs 49.35 crore net across 16,902 shows in India on Friday. With this, the film's India gross collection reached Rs 131.46 crore after two days. The film also posted a strong start globally. According to Deadline, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to register a worldwide opening day collection of between $167 million and $173 million, including preview collections. The English 3D version recorded an overall occupancy of 43.48 percent on Friday. Morning shows registered 31.56 percent occupancy, afternoon shows 44.56 percent, evening shows 54.33 percent and night shows 66.78 percent. The Hindi 3D version recorded an overall occupancy of 36.79 percent, while the Hindi 2D version registered 23.69 percent. The English 2D version posted an overall occupancy of 44.56 percent. The film has also been released in Tamil and Telugu. Trade analysts expect the film to cross the Rs 200 crore mark in India during its opening weekend despite competition from The Odyssey and Jana Nayagan. The film has also crossed the opening day collections of Avatar: The Way of Water, which earned Rs 40 crore in India, and Avengers: Endgame, which opened with Rs 53 crore. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman.
