Suspicious bag forced evacuation of Penticton airport: RCMP Published 2:15 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2026 The Penticton Regional Airport evacuated on Wednesday, July 15, after police were called to investigate a suspicious piece of luggage. RCMP were called by security at around 10 a.m., forcing a brief closure of the airport. The building was safely evacuated before investigators inspected the bag and determined it to be safe, police said. No flights were impacted and airport operations are now fully back in service.
