Watch: Donegal senior garda makes Bank Holiday road safety appeal

A Donegal-born Garda, one of the most senior in the country, has appealed to road users to slow down this Bank Holiday weekend. Chief Superintendent Denis Ferry, from Dunfanaghy, was appointed Assistant Commissioner last month. Assistant Commissioner Ferry is a son of Denis and Eileen Ferry of Roshine, Dunfanaghy. He revealed an extensive countrywide roads policing operation which will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It begins this morning and continues until Tuesday morning, 4th August. This enforcement operation will focus on the four lifesaver offences in an effort to ensure that all road users get home safe this weekend: 1. Speeding 2. Driving under the influence of an intoxicant 3. Using a mobile phone while driving 4. Not wearing a seatbelt Watch Assistant Commissioner Ferry's appeal below:
